Ebony is a proud graduate of the Bella Abzug Leadership Institute’s 2012 Summer Program. Fuelled by her passion, she returned as a summer 2013 intern, and as a member of the administrative staff in 2014.
She recently graduated from Winthrop University with an Individualized Studies degree in “Women’s Health and Empowerment through Fitness and Wellness.” Through her studies, she has found a keenness for Women’s Rights, Empowerment, and Public Health issues. Since joining the BALI team, Ebony has organized various health-based programs and events.
She has also spearheaded the formation of BALI’s Alumnae Association, a networking group for BALI alumnae and various affiliates of the program. When asked what she loves most about BALI, Ebony may say the programs unique sense of sisterhood and togetherness that is encouraged, although BALI also promotes individuality. In the future, she aspires to become a Public Health advocate and writer focusing on the concept of beauty, self-confidence, and personal development in young girls.
